Gluten-Free Bread Buns – Protein Vegan


Glutenfree Bread Buns - Protein /Vegan

Nourishing,protein packed bread buns perfect on the go,to make sandwich or just to grab a super-healthy bite!

Equipment

  • 1 large bowl,baking tray

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup millet flour
  • 1 cup oats
  • 3 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 3 tbsp psyllium husk
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper - optional

Instructions
 

  • Preaheat oven to 190°C (375°F)
  • Mix psyllium husk with 2 cups water.Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  • In a large bowl mix well the dry ingredients to avoid lumps when adding liquid.
  • Add peanut butter or any nut butter
  • Add the gelified psyllium husk and knead until homogenized.It will be a sticky dough.
  • Form little bread rolls with your hands and place them on a baking trey.
  • Bake them for 30 minutes at 190°C (375°F).Depending on the oven it can be up to 45 minutes.It's best to check the oven every 10 minutes not to overbake.
  • Enjoy warm or cold!

Notes

Flours

  • I made millet flour out of millet grain using a blender.It's always time consuming to purchase ready-made flours from a health store if available.
  • Feel free to experiment with different flours such as red lentil flour,buckwheat flour,quinoa flour,brown rice flour etc.
